With Allen sitting across the room from him and the mess they had created finally cleaned up, it was almost as if nothing had happened. Lavi wondered for a moment if the whole thing had been a dream he’d concocted during the usually long, boring train ride.

But the way Allen returned his gaze… It only helped to burn their time together in his perfect memory. He smiled back at the white haired boy, unable to keep from replaying their intimate moments over and over again in his mind. He only broke his gaze when the train slowed suddenly, sending a jolt through the cars and causing him sway. He looked outside and it seemed they were almost at their destination.

“Well, that was quicker than I expected,” Lavi said, returning his gaze to Allen.

“Yea.” Allen agreed as the train slowed to a stop at their station. He grabbed his bag and coat, but paused in the act of opening the door to their compartment.

He wished they didn’t have to go back, he didn’t want to go back to his daily life, hiding how he felt. He knew that even if Lavi did want to continue some sort of relationship with him, it would most likely be strictly physical. You are all just ink… he remembered what Lavi had said that day, when his Bookman persona had taken over. He knew that Lavi was not supposed to genuinely care about any of them. He knew that Lavi could never actually love him…

When did my feelings get this strong? How did I not notice? He felt like crying again, but this time he was able to give Lavi his friendliest smile instead.

“Ready to go?” he asked, pulling open the compartment door.
