connie is that person who posts theories and critcisms and writes in depth analysis about books and gets into arguments about how its meant to represent the futile struggle of the working class and steven just posts a lot of poorly drawn fanart with captions like ‘i love Harry!!!!!!!!!!!!! hes my fave!!!!!’ but connie still reblogs it all anyways

THAT INTERVIEW. Read it. Did you read it? Read it.

“there’s a lot going on on the Gem Homeworld that he doesn’t know about at all, and a lot of rules that exist there that the Gems we know don’t follow!”

“Steven’s going to learn a lot more soon on the show, about what each of the Crystal Gems are supposed to be… it’s very different than the way they’ve been living on Earth.“

“It is very unusual for Gems like Garnet, Amethyst, and Pearl to be living and working together the way they do, almost as unusual as it is for Steven to exist!”

“Actually… the Gem he knows the least about at this point is Pearl.”

one of my favorite things about steven universe is how immediately and unabashedly parental steven is towards anything even slightly smaller than he is. a goat? his son. freaky watermelon? his baby. centipeedle? his delicate and beautiful daughter.

i think when pearl says ‘sometimes you even sound like her’, this is the kind of thing she’s talking about— this immediate protective love he has for anything that comes close enough to hug.
