Avery followed them silently. Once they were at the entrance, she looked up at the tall building. “Wow, this place is huge.” She said then looked at the giant face and nodded. Hesitantly, she walked closer to it, wearing a weary expression. “Uh, what’ll happened if I’m not…uh…worthy?” She asked.

“It is just checking to make sure you aren’t an Akuma… it isn’t entirely accurate, to be honest. The only two times Ive seen it scan someone it got it wrong. But we worked things out.” Allen said in a light tone that did not at all match the body language of him backing away from the giant face before it tried to scan.

“It should be fine though, even if it gets the scan wrong somehow, I can tell you aren’t an Akuma, so Komui will… hopefully listen right away.”

“Yeaaaaa.” Lavi said, also backing away a bit. He had also seen firsthand what could happen if Komui didn’t listen.

Avery softly giggled. “It’s ok. I don’t have that great of a sense of direction either. And I’m sure you would’ve found it eventually.” She playfully said, looking back out the window. After what seemed like forever, the train finally stopped. Grabbing her bag, she stood up with the other two and headed off the train.

Allen and Lavi lead the way to the Order building. Allen hoped the gatekeeper would let them through without issues, both times he had tried to use this door it had resulted in him being attacked.

“Alright, you just need to be scanned, and we can bring you to see Komui.” Lavi said, gesturing that she should stand in front of the giant face.

“I guess we won’t know for sure until we get there.” Avery said, looking back out the window as she tried to calm her nerves. Even though she was sure Allen would be there with her, she couldn’t help but feel nervous to show everyone her abilities. “How much longer until we arrive?” She asked after a few minutes.

“I think its one of the next few stops.” Allen said, looking out the window at the vaguely-familiar landscape.

“The next stop is ours.” Lavi answered, smirking. “Good thing I’m here, or the ‘Sprout would get you lost!”

“I would not! I would have recognized the stop when I saw it!” Allen said defensively. He wasn’t that bad!

Avery blushed a tiny bit and nodded. “Okay…I’ll show you my abilities when we get back. If it means finding out what caused these powers to appear then I’ll do anything.” She said then looked at Allen. “What if I’m just a different kind of…Crow. I mean, you said they’re mysterious, so maybe they have different types but never told anyone…or showed anyone.”

“That’s true.” Allen said. “They certainly are very quiet about what they do. I didn’t even know they existed, until recently. I dont know much about what sorts of powers they have…”

“They’ve been experimenting too, I hear.” Lavi chimed in.

red-eyed-doll:

“They might be or at least are similar to them. I mean, I have some powers which are like those you read about in books. Stuff like teleportation and super strength and speed.” Avery said. “But like I said, I can’t exactly control them very well.”

Lavi stared at her with wide eyes.

“I dont think Crows can do that sort of stuff…” he said in an awed voice. “You gotta show me when we get to HQ. Of course, Komui will want to see what you can do anyways…”

“Yea… Ive seen Link do stuff with seals and spells, but nothing like that.” Allen chimed in. “Then again, I never even knew Link was a Crow for quite a while, and they are all mysterious and such… maybe they can do that sort of stuff, and we just never have seen it.”
