“Jesus Christ, I thought you were dead there for a second,” Lavi said, relief flooding his face as he sighed. He looked down to see that Allen had only managed to get his pants undone before giving up. Forgoing the dry clothes for a moment, he grabbed the cocoa off of the coffee table and handed it to Allen.
“Here, you need to drink this. I really think you have hypothermia and you need to get your temperature up.” He waited until Allen had a firm grasp on the mug and the ceramic was pressed against his freezing lips before he let go. While Allen was drinking, He walked to an over-stuffed reading chair in the corner by the window and grabbed the fuzzy, green blanket from the back. Lavi pulled the blanket over Allen’s shoulders, wrapping him up in it.
“This is my warmest blanket. I think it’ll help some,” he added watching to make sure Allen was drinking all of the cocoa. As he was standing there, a thought occurred to him. “Ah, I suppose I never gave you my name, huh? I’m Lavi.”
Hypothermia…? Allen didn’t think it was that bad, he was just tired. But before he could speak, a mug was being pressed into his hands and guided to his mouth. The heat was a shock to his frozen body, but Allen sipped at the drink, enjoying the warmth.
He hadn’t noticed the man walk away until a blanket was being wrapped around his shoulders. The blanket really was warm, and Allen pulled his legs up to cover his feet as well. He sipped at his cocoa carefully, feeling a bit more energized now that he had something warm in his stomach. He hadn’t had anything as luxurious as cocoa in quite a while.
Allen looked up as the man spoke again, finally giving a name.
“…I’m Allen.” he said quietly. He thought he remembered telling Lavi before… but he wasn’t sure now.
