“Oh come on…” Allen muttered darkly as Lenalee pulled him to the wall. “Lenalee, aren’t you at least going to destroy the robot before it kills Lavi?” he asked in a desperate tone. He had been counting on Lenalee going to the rescue, he would feel bad if Lavi actually did get injured, even if it was payback.

“Quit worrying, Allen! We’re right on the robot’s path anyway, if brother has a bot that Lavi can’t handle, it’ll just take a quick kick to send it back over the edge!” Lenalee teased, glancing at the red-headed rabbit as he began to dash off, away from the loud clicks that were closing in.

It might have been from her own fright, but Calera whisked out the shield that she often used, ready to turn it on as soon as the metal machine turned the corner.

Allen groaned. He had been counting on Lenalee being distracted so he could escape. Instead, now he was going to be caught in the middle of another one of Komui’s commotions dressed like this. And of course it would attract the attention of most of the Order…

“Lenalee, let me go back to my room and wear my normal clothes…” he whined. If he escaped now he could keep at least some of his dignity intact.

finderoftheinternetorder:

“You BASTARD, ALLEN!” Lavi shouted, leaping up to dash away from the scene. Komui was going to be there any second, and the rabbit just had to leave his innocence back in his room. Even now, it was as if you could hear the whirr of a new contraption heading their way.

Lenalee just grabbed Allen by the shoulders, looked over to Lavi with a sad little shrug (’Sorry Lavi, I can’t convince my brother any better than you can, and we’re both in the same place…’) and dragged the white-haired boy close to the wall, to make room for the rampage.

And Calera…well, the finder just pressed herself against the wall as much as she could, listening to the clicking of the robot draw near.

“Where are we exactly?”

Allen looked at Calera in alarm.

“I thought you were doing the navigation!”

“Right. Either way, we could always check the train schedule to see how long it would take us to reach the possible missed stop, anyway.” Standing up, Calera stepped out of the compartment into the empty hall, trying to see through the small windows of the cars for any sign of someone’s movement.

Allen followed her down the car, frowning as all the compartments around them appeared empty.

“Where is everyone?” he asked, growing suspicious. “We would have woken up if something happened, right…?”

finderoftheinternetorder:

“Ooooh. Scary, sprout!” Lavi teased, before giving Allen’s hair a good ruffle and sauntering away. “Make sure you guys tell me if you do something to ol’ Soba Boy. Especially if I can get in on it, ‘kay?”

Calera just watched him leave with an annoyed glare in her eyes, her head calculating different items and possible concoctions they could get their hands on. “Well, he made you pretty much follow every order he gave, and you became a cat or a child depending on if myself or Lavi said your first name, respectively.” ‘Maybe something to make him younger…that’d be interesting.’

Allen groaned, putting his face in his hands.

“Yep. Definitely need to get back at him. Maybe ghost pepper soba. I can probably convince Jerry to ‘slip’… or slip it myself…” he muttered, before pushing himself off the wall and waving to Calera.

“Thanks for trying to help… I’m just gonna go try to sleep now.”

finderoftheinternetorder:

Calera looked up from where she had been pawing through the map, looking to see what was contained in the surrounding rooms. There wasn’t any enemies shown, but a vague trap symbol was gleaming over a bright item crest in the spot to their left.

“Allen, all I did was stay in the beginning position, and then my body moved on it’s own!” Her past spell was fading already, but she didn’t want to try it again so soon. Calera didn’t know how much energy she had to use with the staff, after all.

Allen moved so he was in the starting position of one of his moves. This time, he didn’t move when the glow started, and after a moment his body moved on its own to do the attack.

“Oh, nice!” Allen said with a grin. “We will have to keep the activation time in mind, but it shouldn’t be too hard to fight with this. And maybe the activation time will decrease as we get used to it…”

finderoftheinternetorder:

A solemn nod punctuated her answer, as guilt finally caught up to her for what had happened. “I did, each and every one of them can’t affect you anymore. To put it simply, you’re free.”

Kind of sad, really. All she wanted to do was help him sleep, but then her own mind just had to set a prank that led to this entire fiasco in the first place. Lavi finding out, Kanda becoming half of the victim, then the entirety of the perpetrator. Calera quickly losing whatever control she could have had on the situation. Just goes to show her how she really can’t trust anything to happen as planned here.

But it was over, so a smile laid on her lips, and she looked around at the hall, empty except for the three. “You think Master Kanda should be told about this, or are you going to try to use it to your own advantage, Allen?”

Allen thought about it, the idea was intriguing. A way to get back at Kanda for the part he played in all of this. But…

“I dont know what the triggers he put on me were, so it would be hard to get back at him.”

He gave a sigh, leaning against the wall. “Maybe Ill tell Jerry to spike his soba with something as revenge.” he mused, and looked up at Lavi. “I’m gonna get you too Lavi, when you will least expect it.” he said darkly.

finderoftheinternetorder:

“Okay, now I’m really curious. Can’t ya just tell me what’s goin’ on, Allen?” It nearly felt like a situation that happened a few months ago, only this time, it seemed to be less…hypnotic, per say. What an odd little circumstance, and Lavi wanted to get to the bottom of it as soon as possible, and possibly reap the rewards.

Lenalee however, was just keeping an eye on her two main pieces, the controller and the player being controlled. Calera was quite a good distance away, but not far enough that the speedy exorcist couldn’t catch her in less than a second, if she had to.

“Lenalee is being a bully…” Allen muttered, trying to figure out a good way out of this situation. If he knew where Komui was…

Maybe he didn’t need to know where Komui was, the man seemed to have superhuman abilities when it came to his precious little sister. Allen just needed to provide the right incentive for the man to unknowingly come to his rescue.

“Sorry, Lavi…” He said quietly, as a plan of escape formed.

Lavi stopped ruffling his hair. “Huh? Sorry for what.”

Allen took a deep breath, and shouted as loud as he could.

“Lavi proposed to Lenalee!”

He supposed this was a good payback for the little fiasco they had a few months ago.

Calera was witnessing an odd scene. Her friend, the Allen she knew, was dressed in edge-line skimpy clothing and swinging the daggers in his hands with the dregs of skill he naturally had. Then the daggers began to glow. It was only for a moment, but then they would fade, always when he continued moving. She might seem a bit lazy for trying her own idea now, but Allen’s efforts gave her a simpler method to attempt.

It was going to be a simple spell, all it did was scan the length of about two conjoining ‘rooms’ (of about 15 square meters each), and give the newly christened mage a map of any, while still unidentified, treasure and enemies. A simple scanning spell, but Calera knew how to hold her staff to begin it. Twisting the staff so the flat head faced her, she swiped it towards the ground, and froze, watching in amazement as the staff began to softly glow.

The glow quickly grew stronger, as if recognizing that yes, she did want to make this action. A rush along her arm as it appeared to move on its own accord, bathing the room with soft green light before dimming away, only leaving a lit green map, held in the air for Calera to read as she saw fit.

    “…Maybe you should try that.”

Allen was still busy swinging his daggers around. He noticed the glowing, and  looked over just in time to see Calera swing her staff, and the room light up as the spell was cast.

“Woah, what did you do?” he asked, having missed how she actually activated the spell.

finderoftheinternetorder:

“It’s been a long day, but it’s time to let any and all triggers, commands, and actions you were asked to follow go. The words can not affect you anymore.” Calera said, placing a hand on Allen’s shoulder to make certain that he wouldn’t fall over after being moved.

“Alright, when you’re ready to wake up, just go ahead and tell me. I don’t want to have to rush you.” This was not going to be one of those times Allen shot himself awake. Not this time, it would be too disorienting, and too much like what has happened before.

Allen swayed a bit as he regained his consciousness, and felt hands steady him until he regained his balance. He looked around as he realized Lavi was no longer pressed against the wall, and found him standing behind Allen, keeping him steady as he reoriented himself.

“You didn’t do anything again, did you?” Allen asked him suspiciously, but Lavi shook his head.

“Nah, you had enough.” Lavi said with a grin. “And to be honest you are really good at somehow making whatever anyone had made you do backfire somehow onto them…”

“Serves them right.” Allen muttered under his breath, before turning to Calera. “You took them all off, right? Including the one that made me go into the hypnosis?”

finderoftheinternetorder:

“Hey, c’mon Allen! It’s not like ya can’t just go and change back into them, right?” Lavi said, patting Allen on the shoulder in a light manner, but adding a good ruffle to his hair as well. “Did ya make a bet or somethin’?”

Lenalee just gave a bright smile and shook her head, not willing to explain away her own chance to have a bit of fun. Over on the other side of the group, Calera leaned against the wall, debating just walking off. She never really told Allen to do much else, so he could make a break for it once she was gone. If Calera thought Lenalee would let her.

“Something like that…” Allen muttered, ignoring Lavi messing up his hair. He tried to think of a way to get away, but unless he could figure out a way to stop Lenalee following him, there was not much hope.

So I need to somehow distract Lenalee with something… something she would prioritize more than coming after me…

Maybe Lavi’s presence would be helpful after all…
