I hope Obama booby traps the heck out of the Oval Office
Home Alone: White House Havoc
This totally happened by the way. Bill Clinton’s staff just like, fucking broke the White House in preparation for George W Bush. Filled drawers with superglue and hair shavings, broke individual keys on computer keyboards, the works.
more specifically they broke the ‘W’ key on all the keyboards
what do we do tho? like, honestly? what happens if he’s elected? what do we honest to god do?
YOU MUST VOTE IN 2018
The 2018 United States elections will be held (for the most part) on Tuesday, November 6, 2018. During this mid-term election year, all 435 seats in the United States House of Representatives and 33 of the 100 seats in the United States Senate will be contested. 38 state and territorial governorships and numerous other state and local elections will also be contested.
You all had better turn the FUCK out in 2018. Are you pissed about the results? Do you want more progressives in office? GOOD. HIT THE FUCKING GROUND. Don’t just turn up to vote, canvass and phone bank and do WHATEVER IT TAKES. If all you get from this election is a lesson then you better learn it.
THIS.
FUCKING.
THING.
Do NOT sit on your asses for four years. Midterms are a chance to flip the house and senate, and that fucking matters.
This is not going to be enough. You have to become intimately familiar with you who your state assemblymen and state senators are. You need to become familiar with your Congressperson and your two Senators. And you need to start calling their offices (like on the phone) and emailing and tweeting at them about what you want from them and how displeased with them you are as they start putting whatever the fuck his actual policy plans are into action.
Because as it stands right now, there is going to be no soul-searching from the Republican Party. Not with those numbers. They are going to view this as a mandate and sweeping changes will be made. Bad sweeping changes.
You need to become involved and indicate to them that you are an engaged voter. They are not going to change for you. You have to meet them in the communication channels they have always employed.
And you might want to start donating to causes like Planned Parenthood and other groups. Because those are about to be gutted even more than they are.
Seriously. Give yourself a couple days to breathe and process and then get to fucking work. Look up everyone in your district, your county, your state. Get a good idea on their policies and what they will be voting for. PAY ATTENTION to what issues are coming up before local, state, and federal government. Be aware of what’s going on and then ACT. Start calling your representatives once a week to voice your position on what they need to vote on. Tweet and email them daily. They say something stupid on social media? Call them the fuck out for it AND THEN follow it up with a email/letter and a phonecall.
This is on all of us guys. We have to work at this as hard as we work at anything else in our lives. This is our second/third/fourth job now because without the kind of consistent and constant pressure the rightest of right wingers have been applying to our government we will not be able to turn this tide.
So take a breath. Then make a plan and act on that plan.
I do take some small, cold, bitter satisfaction in one thing, and that’s the fact that Trump is going to be absolutely fucking miserable for the next four years.
He’s an entertainer and an attention whore, not a public servant. He wants to be on TV and in front of crowds, not actually working a difficult, grueling, stressful job he can’t opt out of. He’s going to have to sit through SO many meetings, be forced to read SO many briefings, get shoehorned into serious business all day every day, without crowds to perform for, and he’s going to hate Every. Single. Minute.
And then, when he doesn’t deliver on his promises, when he doesn’t build the wall or create jobs or make people rich, when it becomes clear how incompetent and buffoonish he is, the country and all his supporters will turn on him. They’re gonna start blaming him for everything, and those crowds that cheered for him are going to start booing. He’ll be humiliated at every turn, and leave office with the lowest approval rating ever, and he’ll be universally despised.
Because if he’d lost to Hillary, he would have played the martyr forever, called everything rigged, and had a cushy gig on Fox News complaining every day about how he would have done it better. But now he’s going to have to actually WORK, he’s going to be forced to deal with RESPONSIBILITIES, while surrounded by people who hate him and don’t respect him, people vastly more intelligent and competent than him, and he will be exposed as a loser. And then, we’ll fire him. He’ll go down as the worst president in history. And he’ll have no one to blame but himself.
I know this isn’t much against the fear of what’s going to happen, but friends, hear me. We are going to make Donald Trump’s life a living nightmare, and I for one take immense pleasure from that.
One way white people can take responsibility for this, is by fighting back. Against Trump, and against any hate or violence we witness.
I’m white, I didn’t vote for him, and I’m still going to fight.
Ive already heard stories about Trump supporters harassing and attacking people I follow… so I want to say something I think is important…
Your safety is important. If you feel that your gender, sexuality, religion, or race is putting you in danger, and you want to hide, that’s okay.
Its not a bad thing to go on the down low, or go back into the closet if you are out. If you can pass as white, cis, hetero, or even another religion, and feel that you need to for your safety, that’s okay. Do it.
I feel like there is a lot of stuff about how you have to be yourself, that you shouldn’t hide who you are, that denying when people ask you is lying… and I feel like its important right now to reassure those who are scared, that your safety is first priority, and that its okay to keep these details a secret. It doesn’t mean that you are not being yourself, it means that you are prioritizing yourself and your safety.
Even if that means outright lying if you are asked directly, if you feel safer doing it, absolutely do it.
Consider your gender, sexuality, race, and religion as personal information. Its not anyone’s business unless you trust them. This includes friends, parents, employers… even doctors dont need this information, just tell them your sex, not gender.
Basically, this whole situation is going to require a lot of people to
play a very long game of pretend. So lets all pretend we are secret agents,
under deep cover, and were assigned an identity we need to use for
the next 4 years. And we need to blend in to avoid detection, so the identity is as close to being cis and straight as you can pull off.
But please, I know this is bad… but stay safe. That includes staying safe from yourself.
This is going to be a long 4 years, but if it goes as horribly as we all fear, at least it is unlikely Trump will be reelected… and we can rebuild. After Bush, we got Obama, because a lot of people saw how damaging Bush was to the country. After Trump, we will get someone who can heal the damage. It seems to be a pattern… things have to get bad before they can get better… This is a big step back, but I think maybe people will have their eyes opened a bit, after seeing just how intolerant Trump really is, and be more accepting towards diversity. We already got gay marriage to be legalized for the entire country. After Trump, we may be able to get outlaw conversion therapy, get Trans rights all across the country, who knows?
And there is always the possibility he will fuck up enough to get impeached. Or he will lose the office in some other way.

The gender part is intended towards Trans people. It would be up to you whether you would want to hide the fact you were designated another gender at birth and have had it changed legally (and/or surgically), or if you want to hide the fact you identify/pass as a different gender than assigned, but those are the safest options. Obviously if you are currently passing as a different gender than what is on your legal documents, you will have a more difficult time with employers and doctors if that comes up… But if you have been doing that up to this point, and not many people know your documentation says otherwise, it may be safest for you to stick to that. Just evaluate your situation, and think about what may come up in the future that may require you to provide documents showing your currently assigned gender. It is likely not going to be safe to tell people if you identify as any gender other than male or female. Those not on the gender binary already get shit for it, I can only imagine this will get worse. For people identifying as a gender other than male or female, it may be best to pick one to pass as, or go with what was designated as birth, and just pretend to be that gender until this blows over. Obviously, you can choose to go for a more androgynous look if you prefer, but it would be safest to pick a single ‘socially acceptable’ gender to pass as for the time being.
The race part is intended for people who are of mixed race, or who can pass as other races. Obviously, it is easy to tell many peoples race at a glance. But there are a lot of mixed race people who can pass as white. And many white people are terrible at identifying anything past ‘Black, White, Asian, Mexican, (and maybe Middle Eastern)’ anyways. If you can pass as another race, absolutely do it if it will make you safer. You may not be able to pass as white, but even among the ‘minority’ races, some may be better than others…
The intent for the Sexuality part seems obvious, but Ill say it anyways… If you can pass as straight, you should do it if you feel it would be safer. Even if it means convoluted shit like swapping dates with buddies to appear as straight pairs, find other queer couples and do double dates. Lie to your doctors if you think that’s necessary. Whatever keeps you safe.
Religion I also feel should be obvious… Muslims are the ones I feel are most at risk, at the moment. I wont pretend I know a lot about Islam, but I would think that your god would forgive you for lying about your religion, or not following certain practices that make you identifiable as Muslim, if it keeps you safe and alive. Christian is the easiest and safest religion to pretend to be. You dont even have to say you pray or go to church, just claim to be a casual Christian or some shit. Just remember there’s different types of Christians, like Catholics or Lutherans, so make sure you at least read a Wiki article on the basics. Or you can claim to be agnostic or atheist. Not as preferable, but not a claim that will usually put your life in danger. Though depending on where you work, your job may be at risk. So claim whatever you need to for your situation, and make sure to be able to recite at least basic info.
A personal bit: I already do this in a way. Not because I felt necessarily unsafe before, but I want to explain and argue about being genderfluid to every person I ever met, so I just pass as cis female. I would only mention it if I knew I was in a safe environment, and the subject of being trans was already brought up, so only once have I ever actually mentioned it in a conversation. Now, I’m glad I have kept this quiet, because it means no one at work knows I’m not cis, and very few friends who know me in real life know this about me. The ones who know this are all in the lgbt+ spectrum themselves.
I am honestly terrified for so many people… I have a friend who is still recovering from gender reassignment surgery, I’m scared for her now. I follow a person who posted about getting pushed down stairs because they were trans. I have a Bi friend who mentioned that they were considering drinking bleach if Trump won the election…
And even straight white cis women are in danger… and this can affect other countries too, because if Trump refuses to allow refugees, people will die… And he will deport so many people, too… And poor people and veterans may lose benefits…
It feels like the only way to be safe from Trumps reign of terror is to be an American white straight middle-class cis male. And eventhey are at risk because Trump is anti-union. And he could have a tantrum, try to nuke a country, and get us all killed. There’s that too.
So no one is safe.
Sorry to my followers for all the political posts Ill be doing, but tbh I’m fucking pissed at this BS country for electing this joke.
And I’m terrified for all my friends who are now in the line of fire. Like, I’m white, and I can pass as straight cis, and I live in a tolerant state… so the only thing I have to worry about is being poor and a woman. I have a lot of friends who dont have that privilege…
Anyways, if you want to block my reblogs, and any rants, I’m just using #politics as my tag for all of this.
To the 5% of people in Arizona who voted 3rd party- if you had voted for Hillary, that’s 11 electoral votes that would have gone to her.
To the 3% of people in Florida who voted 3rd party- if you had voted for Hillary, that’s 29 electoral votes that would have gone to her.
To the 5.5% of people in Michigan who voted 3rd party- if you had voted for Hillary, that’s 16 electoral votes that would have gone to her.
To the 5% of people in New Hampshire who voted 3rd party- if you had voted for Hillary, that’s 4 electoral votes that would have gone to her.
To the 3.3% of people in Pennsylvania who voted 3rd party- if you had voted for Hillary, that’s 20 electoral votes that would have gone to her.
To the 5.7% of people in Wisconsin who voted 3rd party- if you had voted for Hillary, that’s 10 electoral votes that would have gone to her.
Total, that is 90 electoral votes. As I type this, Hillary needs 61 to win.
Please just let that sink in for a second.
Hillary would’ve been elected right now, at this very moment, if instead of you protesting your vote, had just voted for her. She would EASILY be President.
You KNEW 3rd party candidates didn’t stand a chance. You were told. But instead, you had to vote for them anyways, and guess what?
You screwed us over. Congratulations.
I hope that feeding your “both candidates are bad” superiority complex is worth a Trump presidency.
