Tumblr is about the only place I have left where I can just shout into the void and can count on not a lot of friends answering with worry, since most of my friends dont follow my tumblr or dont check it much…

BTW I know not a lot of my followers know, but some do… I live in Santa Rosa so those of you who know that were probably worried about me, but like, Im alive. Worst that happened to me was no power for 4 days, and lots of stress about the fires being really close to my house and work. (I mean as in less than a mile) I did evacuate for a bit, but other than that worst that happened was Im out like $200 for having to buy supplies, and I had just bought food that went bad in my fridge from no power… x.x Which in comparison, I got off lucky.

I synced audio from Alex Hirsch, Dana Terrace, and Ian JQ’s Pokemon Theme during the Charity Stream with the original karaoke audio, to boost the music and make it suitable for adding to your playlists!

Enjoy!

Mabel Juice

Slightly modified version of this one by Brigit

  1. Plastic dinosaurs
  2. 1 can Frozen Fruit Punch (I used Safeway brand)
  3. 3 16oz cans Fruit Punch flavored Rockstar
  4. ½ vial Edible Glitter
  5. Silly Straw (optional)

Wash the plastic dinosaurs and put them in a pitcher

Add the frozen Fruit Punch

Now, the can of this says add 36 ounces of water. Im 99% sure there is no water in real Mabel Juice… so we are going to add only energy drink!

3 cans of Rockstar is more than 36 ounces…. but who cares lol

Now, for the glitter!

I bought silver because Im cheap. I have had Brigits Mabel juice from the original recipe I linked, and when the shapes melt, they turn give the juice a nice overall shimmer, so thats what we want.

Dump in about half the vial. Or more! ALL OF THE GLITTER!

Now mix it up really well! And maybe let it sit in the fridge for a while to let the glitter dissolve.

I took a cup to go before putting it in the fridge. Enjoy! (Silly straw optional)

This they tweeted today too

I FUCKING CALLED IT YOU GUYS
LET’S MAKE THE ANNUAL INTERNATIONAL GF SCAVENGER HUNT A THING

I’m down with that idea! Yes let’s make this a tradition!

I believe that’s the idea with CodeMageddon

HOW A GODAMN CRYPTOGRAM WORKS? GRAVITY FALLS NEVER TEACHES YOU. HOW HARD IS GIVING YOU EXPLATION STEP FROM STEP?

doberart:

Where’s the fun in that? XD There are also plenty of resources on Tumblr and within the fandom, as well as on Google if you’re getting frustrated with cracking the codes and ciphers. This is also a good resource.

(Since I’m sure some people genuinely struggle with this and want to know how the ciphers actually work instead of just using an auto-decoder, I took the time to explain them)

How they work depends on the cryptogram being used.

Ceasar shifts all the letters of
the alphabet over a few spaces. It can change, but Gravity Falls generally does a 3 letter shift. So like, A would turn into C, B
into D, etc.

Atbash flips the alphabet backwards. So A turns into Z, B turns into Y, etc.

A1Z26 turns the letters into numbers. A is 1, B is 2, etc.

Vigenere is more complicated. It uses the same concept as the Casesar cipher, but uses a codeword to determine the shift. If you were going to code GRAVITYFALLS using the codeword PINES, for example…

 P   I   N  E  S  P  I   N  E  S   P  I (Codeword)
15  8 13 4 18 15 8 13 4 18 15 8 (How far to shift [A=0])
 G  R  A  V   I  T  Y  F  A  L   L  S
 V  Z   N  Z  A  I  G   S  E  D  A  A

So coding GRAVITYFALLS with the keyword PINES would create VZNZAIGSEDAA. To decode, you usually need to know the codeword, this code is extremely difficult to decode without it, but there are online programs that can try to decode it. This one is the best Ive found so far.

These are just the three used in the show (not counting the symbols, but that is usually just a substitution cipher, where they substitute letters for symbols instead, so no actual decoding, just figuring out what symbols are what letters).

Some codes in the show use more than one of these, though. So keep in mind they can be used together.
