corflammarum:

After a few minutes of debating he had decided to go check on him anyways. He knew it wasn’t an easy thing to deal with alone or at all. It really messed with your head.

He was heading down the hall when he heard light footsteps in the direction he was going. Lavi moved closer to the source, wondering who else might be up at this hour. He was greeted by familiar white hair. “Allen? Are you alright?” The redhead made sure to whisper, voice still full of concern.

Allen jumped slightly, he hadn’t noticed anyone approach. When he saw Lavi, relief filled him and he relaxed.

“I’m okay.” he kept his voice as a whisper. “I just…” his voice trailed off. He didn’t want to explain to Lavi that he was out wandering the halls because of a nightmare.

corflammarum:

Lavi was still reading an hour after Allen left, a couple chapters was turning into the whole book. Wouldn’t be the first time. He didn’t really feel like sleeping yet anyways. Besides his book keeping him up, he couldn’t help but wonder how Allen was doing. He really hoped he wasn’t having more nightmares, it was a hard thing to deal with months after the fact.

He had thought he wouldn’t be able to get any more sleep… but his body had other ideas. He was still exhausted from his mission, and kept almost nodding off while trying to read. He considered trying to just go back to sleep, but the nightmare still lurked in his memory.

Maybe Lavi is still awake… It hadn’t been that long that he was asleep, and he knew that often Lavi would be awake reading or working for most of the night, if he wasn’t on a mission. I dont want to bug him too much… But…

Even though he knew what Road showed him was just an illusion, it had felt so real… He wanted to see Lavi again, to make sure that it hadn’t been another dream…

He got as far as the hallway to Lavi’s room before he stopped himself. I cant bug him about this… I should be able to deal with this myself! No one else acted like this…

corflammarum:

“Good night, Allen.” He watched him leave, setting his tea down and picking up the book on his nightstand. He figured he’d just read a few more chapters before nodding off.

Allen made his way back to his room, stubbornly trying to ignore the growing anxiety he felt since he left Lavi. You cant just cling to him, hes fine, stop thinking about it…

He found his room and got ready for bed. As he turned off the lights, he wondered if he was going to be able to sleep at all, but once he closed his eyes exhaustion quickly took over.

‘Lavi, wake up!’

‘I cant hurt you!’

‘Don’t you recognize me…?’

“You were never my friend.”

Allen fell to the floor with a crash, twisted in his sheets. He struggled for a few moments, before he noticed he was in his room at the Order. His throat burned… had he screamed?

He fought his way out from the bedclothes, and leaned against his bed, trying to stop his shivering. After a few moments, he got up to turn on his light. He checked the time and groaned, he had barely been asleep for an hour. He wanted to find Lavi again, to make sure his memories of seeing him alive and well were not also part of a dream… But Lavi would probably be asleep by now.

I’m supposed to be able to deal with stuff like this, this should be nothing to an Exorcist…

He shook his head as he slowly remade his bed, then picked up a book. He probably wasn’t going to get any more sleep tonight anyways…

corflammarum:

The redhead nodded, not knowing if Allen was going to sleep there or return to his room. He thought it may be odd to ask that, he probably wanted his own room.

Lavi smiled, nodding as he did. “Do what you think is best for you in this situation.”

Allen was confused by what Lavi could mean by that, but decided he had bothered Lavi enough.

“Thanks again.” He said, getting up and giving Lavi the teacup. “Ill go try to sleep.”

corflammarum:

Lavi nodded to him, pleased it was helping. “This is what I drink when I’m not feelin’ so great.” It doesn’t always work when it was really bad but a majority of times it did.

Allen thought it might have been Lavi being so understanding and accommodating, rather than just the tea, that was making him feel better. But he didn’t say anything, and finished his tea.

He fiddled with the empty teacup for a few moments, before giving a small sigh.

”I’m really tired… I should probably try to sleep now.”

corflammarum:

The redhead smiled, fetching his own cup before taking a seat near the shorter male. “How is it?” He asked, taking a sip. He picked the one that normally helped calm his own nerves in these situations.

Allen gave Lavi a soft, sleepy smile. “Its good. Thanks.” He sipped at it silently for a few moments. “I feel a lot better now.. thanks, Lavi.”

corflammarum:

The redhead started making the tea. “ True, but it’s still like a death trap. I tripped and fell this morning over a stack of books.” At this point he should know better, but he was half asleep then.

It didn’t take long for the tea to be ready. He brought a cup carefully over to the younger male, making sure not to fall and spill it on either of them. Or the books, Bookman would kill him if he got it on the books. “Here, don’t burn yourself.”

Allen took the cup carefully, and sipped his tea quietly. The warmth and scent of the tea, along with the sense of safety in Lavi’s presence, was starting to finally make him relaxed and sleepy.

corflammarum:

The walk to his room was silent. They didn’t need to go to the cafeteria for the tea, the redhead had recently acquired a nice tea pot with a small burner. A handful of teas and a few cups were also given.

He let go of Allen’s hand before closing the door behind them. “You can sit on the bed or by the desk. Sorry about the mess…” It was always a mess.

Allen hesitated a moment, before moving to sit on the bed. He felt exhausted, and the bed looked much more inviting than the chair.

He had never seen Lavi’s room before, but he was not surprised that it was a mess of clothes, books, and paper. Still…

“Its not as bad as Komui’s office.” he said, stepping carefully over books and papers to sit on his bed.

corflammarum:

He should have expected that. It took weeks before his sleep had become decent after the ark. Lavi sighed, taking the smaller male’s hand to pull him along. “Come on, we’re gonna get ya some tea and try to help calm things down.”

Allen nodded, letting Lavi pull him along. He tightened his grip on Lavi’s hand, feeling a bit better with the contact. It gave him something real to focus on, to remind himself that Lavi was safe.

corflammarum:

It concerned him that the smaller male hadn’t moved and only seemed to feel worse. “Allen? Is anything else wrong?”

Allen was silent for a few moments, not sure if he should bother Lavi any more than he already had. But Lavi had been supportive so far about this…

“Umm… I’m scared.“ he finally said in a quiet voice. “I’m scared to go to sleep.”
