So in between work, Pokemon Go, eating, and sleep, I recently marathoned Rick and Morty, because I heard about it through Gravity Falls and had been meaning to watch it for a while…
Took a few episodes for me to warm up to it, and some of the humor is still not stuff I find funny… but overall, the series is fucking hilarious.
I was disappointed to get to the end, but from how the season ended it seems they are anticipating another…?
Very much an adult show though… When I think of how much Alex liked it, that he got the R&M people to even include little parallels with GF… I wonder what potential Gravity Falls could have had if it had been on Cartoon Network or Adult Swim instead of Disney XD… Like there certainly was quite a bit that the show got away with for being on Disney, but still… Rick seemed like a weird mix of Stan and Ford to me so I cant help but wonder what characters in GF might’ve changed if alcoholism could have been a thing in GF.
The facts are these: Disney has no intention of releasing a complete series set of Gravity Falls. Alex Hirsch has expressed on severaloccasions how he wishes it wasn’t so. Alex, like many of us, is a consumer— Would LOVE to have a series DVD/Blu-Ray box set. A set with every episode, every short, the mini-sodes (like “Old Man McGucket’s Conspiracy Corner”, “Shop at Home With Mr. Mystery”, etc.), commentary, extras, the whole works!
But Disney doesn’t think there will be a market for physical copies in the future, so they just don’t bother with their television properties.
Us fans have to let Disney know that we want this product. That if they make it available we’d be willing to pay for what Alex would honestly love to give us!
I just wanted to leave another note to encourage people to not just sign the petition, but really participate in the letter writing aspect.
While the petition may be a good way gauge passing interest, a hand made letter shows that fans are genuinely vested in seeing this box set made. That you are personally willing to give your time to convince Disney that YOU want this.

I MADE A LITTLE TRAILER THING AND I CANT GET THE VOICE RIGHT BUT NOW ITS RAINING HELLA HARD AND IM DONE WITH THIS FOR NOW UGH THIS TOOK ME TWO HOURS AND ITS LIKE 45 SECONDS LONG I ONLY MEANT FOR THIS TO BE A VOICE TEST WHY DID I DO THIS TO MYSELF. I just wrote up like a mock intro like how Dippers had been and was like “Ok lets just try out effects on Audacity” and then my brain was putting together scenes from the show I could use and Im like ‘Wait wasnt this a voice test’ but my brain was like “NOT ANYMORE NOW YOU HAVE A LITTLE PROMO TRAILER PILOT MINI THING” Id go at least fix up the script a bit but now I dont wanna redo the video ugh.
I figure since my hand slipped and I made this dumb thing might as well post it and see if anyone actually STILL likes the idea lol.
