“Ooooh. Scary, sprout!” Lavi teased, before giving Allen’s hair a good ruffle and sauntering away. “Make sure you guys tell me if you do something to ol’ Soba Boy. Especially if I can get in on it, ‘kay?”

Calera just watched him leave with an annoyed glare in her eyes, her head calculating different items and possible concoctions they could get their hands on. “Well, he made you pretty much follow every order he gave, and you became a cat or a child depending on if myself or Lavi said your first name, respectively.” ‘Maybe something to make him younger…that’d be interesting.’

Allen groaned, putting his face in his hands.

“Yep. Definitely need to get back at him. Maybe ghost pepper soba. I can probably convince Jerry to ‘slip’… or slip it myself…” he muttered, before pushing himself off the wall and waving to Calera.

“Thanks for trying to help… I’m just gonna go try to sleep now.”

A solemn nod punctuated her answer, as guilt finally caught up to her for what had happened. “I did, each and every one of them can’t affect you anymore. To put it simply, you’re free.”

Kind of sad, really. All she wanted to do was help him sleep, but then her own mind just had to set a prank that led to this entire fiasco in the first place. Lavi finding out, Kanda becoming half of the victim, then the entirety of the perpetrator. Calera quickly losing whatever control she could have had on the situation. Just goes to show her how she really can’t trust anything to happen as planned here.

But it was over, so a smile laid on her lips, and she looked around at the hall, empty except for the three. “You think Master Kanda should be told about this, or are you going to try to use it to your own advantage, Allen?”

Allen thought about it, the idea was intriguing. A way to get back at Kanda for the part he played in all of this. But…

“I dont know what the triggers he put on me were, so it would be hard to get back at him.”

He gave a sigh, leaning against the wall. “Maybe Ill tell Jerry to spike his soba with something as revenge.” he mused, and looked up at Lavi. “I’m gonna get you too Lavi, when you will least expect it.” he said darkly.

“It’s been a long day, but it’s time to let any and all triggers, commands, and actions you were asked to follow go. The words can not affect you anymore.” Calera said, placing a hand on Allen’s shoulder to make certain that he wouldn’t fall over after being moved.

“Alright, when you’re ready to wake up, just go ahead and tell me. I don’t want to have to rush you.” This was not going to be one of those times Allen shot himself awake. Not this time, it would be too disorienting, and too much like what has happened before.

Allen swayed a bit as he regained his consciousness, and felt hands steady him until he regained his balance. He looked around as he realized Lavi was no longer pressed against the wall, and found him standing behind Allen, keeping him steady as he reoriented himself.

“You didn’t do anything again, did you?” Allen asked him suspiciously, but Lavi shook his head.

“Nah, you had enough.” Lavi said with a grin. “And to be honest you are really good at somehow making whatever anyone had made you do backfire somehow onto them…”

“Serves them right.” Allen muttered under his breath, before turning to Calera. “You took them all off, right? Including the one that made me go into the hypnosis?”

Allen blinked in confusion, finding himself being pulled down the hall by Lavi. He was too disoriented at first to react, still trying to figure out the situation. Had he been crying? He quickly realized what must have happened. Again.

“Eh, what are you talking abo-?!” Lavi started to call back to Calera, but Allen quickly pinned him to the wall with a hand over his mouth.

“I dont think I should let you talk anymore, sorry Lavi.” Allen said with a deceptively sweet smile. He knew he wouldn’t be able to hold Lavi for long, at least not without getting his innocence involved, so he turned to Calera.

“Can you please take this stupid trigger thing off?”

“With pleasure.” Calera muttered, mimicking Allen’s facade as she leaded against the wall, watching Lavi’s struggle. “And Lavi, do try not to ruin this, okay? It’s about time we all got a break from this madness.” Allen wouldn’t be able to hold Lavi back when she said the phrase, so she hoped somewhere in that playful mind of his, Lavi agreed with her.

“Alright, just sink and listen. Let all voices except for my own just fade away, and fail to affect you.” Calera began, watching Lavi cautiously.

Allen’s expression went blank and his grip on Lavi loosened.

Lavi pulled Allen’s hands off of him and carefully maneuvered his way out from between Allen and the wall. He was careful to make sure Allen didn’t fall, considering he had been half leaning on Lavi when he went into his trance. He considered hijacking the finders hypnosis again, but he felt like she was right; Allen had been through enough today.

And for some reason all of his suggestions seemed to go wrong somehow, anyways.

Calera herself was worn down from the whole ordeal. After having Kanda and Lavi himself put Allen through so much in a day, maybe ice cream was a good idea. “Make certain you have an excuse for Jerry, Lavi. We don’t want him wondering why we’re all suddenly wanting a treat.” Calera warned Lavi, standing up to follow the duo. It wasn’t like she didn’t want something sweet too.

They could get their ice cream, and she’d probably wait for either Lavi to screw up with his name, or herself just to say it twice before she took off these ridiculous triggers herself. Of course, it was a bit hard to tell how he really felt when all she could see in the guy was a child.

Lavi lead a still sniffling Allen by the hand towards the cafeteria, glad there was no one in the halls at the moment to question what was wrong with Allen.

“I’m pretty sure Jerry never needs an excuse for Allen to have a treat. He will just assume we are joining in to hang out.” he replied. He wasn’t too worried, he was sure Jerry wouldn’t even think to question why they all wanted ice cream.
