Gravity Falls Weirdmageddon AU where instead of trying to stop Bill, the Pines family rounds up all the citizens and they just leave town. Bill and his lackeys can’t leave the barrier so the apocalypse is contained in a giant weirdness snow globe. Stan finds a way to make this into a world-famous tourist attraction.

#just imagine…. stan giving tours over the barrier with a sketchy helicopter   #and here ladies and gentleman… is bill cipher. the triangle who thought he was smart enough to rule the world  #people take selfies by the barrier with monsters in the background  #bill screams for eternity. he is defeated and humiliated

I think a part of it may have been that, if Ford could figure that equation out, it was only a matter of time until Bill did. Bill only tried to get the equation from Ford because it was faster, but he likely could have come up with it on his own, given time.
