Virginia Senator Tim Kaine joined Chuck Todd this morning on Meet The Press to discuss the chaos going on in the White House. One of the biggest points was when Kaine actually said that his office and others are getting slammed with phone calls imploring them to resist Trump’s nominees. Clearly, they are listening, they are getting our calls and are taking our concerns seriously.

Please keep calling, no matter what their political party. Many Republicans are feeling the heat from their more moderate constituents against some of the blatantly unqualified Trump nominees. In some cases, we only need 3 GOP to switch sides to prevent dangerous cabinet members from being approved (like DeVos).
Another huge moment was when Kaine and Todd talked about the omission of the word “Jew” from the Holocaust Remembrance Statement. Kaine actually went there, calling them “Holocaust deniers”, which was a ‘drop-the-mic’ moment. Note, Todd didn’t say a word to defend the White House. Considering the views of many in the White House (Bannon, Flynn, etc) it is a fairly reasonable expectation that they are anti-Semitic Holocaust deniers. But to SAY it openly, that’s bold.
Okay since tumblr is extremely america-centric we’re only hearing about trump but this post is there for me to freak out about Dutch Trump:

The elections are in march 2017 and he is biggest in the polls. Which makes me extremely scared. A few reasons:
He wants to go out of the EU, and get rid of the euro (plain bad idea)
Extremely islamophobic
Wants to ban certain newspapers. Banning ideas: Horrible Sign #1
‘’Do you want more or less morrocans?’’ [crowd chants ‘’less, less, less-’’] (he is being prosecuted for hate speech now, mostly for this and his comments about islam: ‘’cleansing’’ the N of muslims, banning the Koran etc.)
Was literally not let into australia to give his speech. Thats how bad he is.
Anti-refugee
Can other Dutch people add to this list?
– He publicly endorses Trump
– He uses grossly offensive language, calling for example the turkish primier ‘an islamic monkey’, hijabs ‘head rags’ and refugees/migrants ‘a tsunami’
– He once called a journalist who had been kidnapped and raped in Iraq a ‘jihad-sympatisant’ because she didn’t allow her case be used for islaphobic retorics
– State he doesn’t hate muslims, but hates islam
– He is highly xenophobe towards eastern europeans, constantly crimalizing them and accusing them of stealing jobs
– His politic party, ‘party for the freedom’, defends and celebrates ‘black pete’, a blackface figure used in the celebration of a holiday in the Netherlands
This dude is part of a Europe wide trend; a dangerous lurch to the right, flirting with, or outright supporting fascism. These people have become just a little bit more frightening since first BREXIT, then the 🍊’s d dubious election 2016 ‘win’. Unfortunately, we cannot afford dismiss even one if these tin pot fascists as being a mere ‘local’ matter, as opposed to a world wide threat to everything progressive. From Putin to Trump to Farage (UK) and Gerry Wilders, (if he wins) are links in a new ‘Axis of Evil’😱😱😱
We can stop that trend.
It’s important to recognize the connections. The AfD publicly celebrated when Trump won. And now they’re starting to copy nazi symbolism.
Don’t be fooled and don’t keep quiet now.
That’s why these marches are so important. It’s NOT KEEPING QUIET.
Also, if you have Dutch nationality but are living abroad, YOU CAN STILL VOTE.
