Every time I think ‘oh, Ill finally get full-time hours I wont have to struggle to get by paycheck to paycheck anymore,’ something happens and I dont get fucking full time.

This time it seemed like it was a for-sure thing… my coworker is retiring. I would get her position as soon as it opened up for internal recruitment. No more empty promises, they needed to fill that position…

But NOPE. Life is like ‘fuck you, you get to struggle, so the college will have an immediate fucking hiring freeze.’

(The last time they did a hiring freeze was before my time, but I’m told it lasted like 5 years. So I’m screwed. My whole office is pretty much screwed tbh, we dont have enough people as it is, and we are just about to begin a new program and we needed to hire additional staff for it…)
