I’m from Florida and I can confirm this. Also, South Florida is basically Miami and alligators.

Actually everyone north of San Francisco in California counts themselves as part of the North-West, too… under most conditions, at least.

Also, I grew up in Wisconsin, and can confirm they consider themselves ‘Midwest’. This always confused me as a child. Still confuses me as an adult.
