After
Allen fell back onto the couch cushions, Lavi couldn’t help but smile –
even with how embarrassed he felt with helping a stranger change into
his clothes. He reached over and grabbed the long sleeved shirt he’d
found and helped Allen into that as well. Once Allen was fully dressed
again, Lavi handed him the still hot mug of fresh cocoa.“How do you feel? You still look pretty cold… Can you feel all your fingers and toes?”
Allen kept his eyes closed as Lavi put the shirt on, but opened them when he was handed the warm mug of cocoa. He took a few sips before he answered Lavi’s questions in a sleepy voice.
“Still cold… my fingers are okay.” The warm mug had helped warm his hands. But the rest of his body had not had much time to start to warm, even with the blankets and heat. He wiggled his toes experimentally and still could not feel them.
“I’m tired…” Even though he was still cold, he still felt much better. The air was warm, his clothes were dry… He really just wanted to curl up in the blanket and sleep.
