the thing is, when you look at this in the context of allen seeing himself as having one path that he can walk, that he lives to save akuma and human beings and everyone, when he wakes up and he’s alive he doesn’t know whether he’s happy or not because if he’d died, he would have died having tried to save suman and protect his innocence. he would have died doing what he promised to himself and to mana he would do. but now that he’s alive, it feels like he’s failed somehow and that breaks my heart because he would rather have died and succeeded in saving someone than live and have failed.
