“Yea, but I didn’t. And neither did you, which is what counts.“ (Yes, of course! You’re playing Lavi?)
Allen was straight forward and he’d be the first to admit that he preferred that to him lying. Lavi’s grin widened a touch.
“You’re awful, Al,” Lavi said, his smile as transparent as the laugh that punctuated the sentence. Allen never took time for himself, never wasted a moment on a thought that wouldn’t better another person’s life and it was a damn shame. “Then to make it fair, it’s gonna go both ways.”
“That’s fair.” Allen said, smiling sadly. He didn’t like the idea of Lavi putting his life in danger to save him, but he couldn’t make Lavi make a promise that he had refused.
He could see that they were approaching the inn, and sighed in relief. He hadn’t been badly injured, but between his injuries and a few nasty knocks to the head, the battle itself, and the fact he never could eat quite enough when they were on missions, he was completely exhausted. He was looking forward to a long nap. Lavi could just as easily fuss over his injuries when he was asleep.
