Posting to save a grad student’s life.
A good thing for people to do, even if you think you already know how to use a program, is explore the options/features. (Because there is a whole tab on references in word, and a big button that says Insert Citation cmon just some playing around and you woulda found it.)
Literally, that is a marketable skill. You don’t need a class to claim you are proficient in a program. Just play with all the options and see what they do. Boom. You are proficient.
At my job half the time I have no fking clue what I am doing, but I know its probably possible with X program, so I go there and click around and look at all the options until I find something that sounds like it might do what I need done.
I also explore around menus and play with everything to see what it does. Dont wait for a class on this shit, go teach yourself. Its hard to actually break a program so go crazy.
