Calera was trapped between a wall and a duo of hard places. Maybe it was best if she said Allen’s name now, but the woman had no idea what would happen if Allen switched while still being so upset. What if he tried to claw someone with his sharp hand? Or even activate his innocence by accident? She settled on joining Lavi in helping to soothe him instead, rubbing Allen’s back gently as she hummed a small tune she picked up from her hometown.

But if anything, the sword-happy person just seemed to get more irritated by the unfolding events. Crying wasn’t something Kanda dealt with well, especially when it came to the warbling of a ‘child’. Kanda decided he was finally bored of the situation, and turned away as if to just leave the room without a second thought.

Lavi noticed Kanda turning to leave, but he had a bigger problem at the moment; an armful of fully grown Allen crying and clinging to him like a child. It would be cute in other circumstances, but right now he just wanted Allen to stop crying.

“Shh, its okay.” he said in a soothing voice, rocking Allen a bit as he had seen mothers do so often in his travels. It seemed to be working, Allen’s crying quieted, until he was just sniffling.

“Ice cream…?” he asked in a hoarse voice, and Lavi nodded.

“Yea, lets go get ice cream.”
